I am a farmer's child. my village is surrounded by vast rice fields. Even I work as a tour driver, sometimes I still help my parents work in the fields. I love nature that always inspires my life. In Tegalalang, the farmers can plant rice 2 times a year, the rice season is depending on the availability of water.  Rice plants need a lot of water, they depend on the water flowing into their fields.

They grow the local types of rice which require a lot of time, need more water, and effort in maintenance.  But their efforts are not in vain because the rice they produce is the best type of rice. 

After 2 rice seasons, they must leave the soil dry.  At that time, farmers will plant other crops such as corn, soybean, peanuts, and sweet potatoes.  They keep the soil dry so that the soil becomes fertile again for the next rice season.
