Bali Botanical Garden and Budugul tour

The Bali Botanical Garden is a remarkable natural forest reserve situated in close proximity to the Ulun Danu Temple in Bedugul, Bali. It was established in 1959 and covers an area of approximately 157.5 hectares at the foothills of Mount Pohen. The garden is beautifully and systematically arranged, providing ample space for visitors to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

One of the best things about the Bali Botanical Garden is its cool temperature, which ranges between 18-20* C, making it an ideal place for a picnic. The garden is located at an altitude of 1250-1400m above sea level, offering visitors spectacular views of the surrounding area.

To enter the garden, an adult admission ticket costs approximately RP.10.000. If you wish to explore the garden by car, you will need to pay an additional fee. There are two different entrances to the garden. The left entrance is for car users, while the right entrance is for motorcycle users. The difference in the entrance is due to the fact that cars are allowed to enter the garden while motorcycles are not.

If you are traveling by car, it is recommended to enter through the left entrance so you can reach the farthest areas of the botanical garden. By doing so, you can easily explore the garden's various attractions, including its vast collection of plant species, beautiful landscapes, and well-maintained walkways.

What can we see in Bali Botanic Garden Eka Karya?

1. Statue of war between Rahwana and Jatayu and Kumbakarna Fight

As soon as you pass through the gate and enter the garden area, you will be greeted by some beautiful statues taken from the Hindu Ramayana epic which tells the life story of Sri Rama. These statues include a depiction of the war between Rahwana and Jatayu and the Kumbakarna fight, which are considered as some of the most iconic moments of the epic.

2. Treetop Adventure

Apart from the statues, there are several other attractions that you can enjoy in the garden. One of them is the Treetop Adventure, where you can test your adrenaline by hanging and sliding from one tree to another using a slider just like Tarzan. Other party companies are working together with the gardens to provide this means of flying fox/zip line activity, and it is an excellent opportunity for those looking for some adventure.

3. Orchid and Cactus Garden

The Orchid and Cactus Garden is another highlight of the Bali Botanic Garden. Here, you will see a collection of natural orchids that are taken directly from the habitat of all the mountains in Indonesia for conservation and research. The colorful orchid flowers blend perfectly with the beautiful garden and pond, creating a stunning view that is sure to mesmerize you.

Not far from the orchid collection is the cactus glasshouse/greenhouse where cactus plants can grow very well despite the outside air temperature being very cold. Here you will find many collections of cactus from several countries, many of which are colorful flowers.

4. The Rose Garden, Usada Garden, and The Panca Yadnya Garden

Apart from the Orchid and Cactus Garden, there are other gardens that you can explore, such as the Rose Garden, which is a collection of rose plants, the Usada Garden, which is a collection of plants for medicine, and the Panca Yadnya Garden, which is a collection of plants for ceremonial purposes.
